Men's roles in Ancient Egypt consisted of working and taking care of their family. The men usually let their wives take care of the children but when the males of the family reached a certain age the father took them and taught them their trade and how to be a man. One fear of men back then were their wives. It often happened that when a man became powerful so did his wife, and when his wife became more powerful it weakened their status. Some of the jobs men did back then were farming, being a priest, and merchants, or took an active part in their government.
Women roles of ancient Egypt usually consisted of housekeeping, looking pretty, and taking care of the young children of the household, all these jobs applied unless you were of higher class, then you could also go to school. Women back in Egypt their entire lives usually had to depend on their fathers, brothers, and husbands to provide for them. Women although did have a part in Egypt's economy, they also had some other job opportunities like owning land, and being a merchant was also available for women.
